As we previously mentioned, PAWS/LA is hosting the bowl project:

"Bowl Project 2011 is an online charity auction featuring ceramic dog bowls that are custom painted by celebrities."

PAWS/LA helps almost 2,000 low-income elderly and people with life-threatening illness keep their pets and provide proper care for them, with free services like vets, grooming, walking, food and more.

Paula Abdul was one of the celebs who painted a bowl.

She tweeted:

The holidays are a great time to give and receive gifts to and from our loved ones.

Some people see it as an opportunity to outdo themselves every year.

But just because someone will flip out and love getting a puppy as a gift, no one thinks about what happens when that puppy becomes a dog.

And then starts costing money: food, vet bills, carpet steaming services (you know what we're talking about.)

You wouldn't surprise a friend by adopting a child for them, would you? Because gifting a dog is basically the legal equivalent except with an even cuter adoptee.

Adele Shopping At Trixie + Peanut

Adele was spotted shopping at the designer pet boutique Trixie + Peanut.

While there, she bought a whole bunch of designer toys like Grrrona Beer, an ibone, Chewy Vuitton and a sniffany and co. box.

So funny.

She even ended up buying antlers and a yarmulke for her pet pooch.

What a nice dog mama.

Some people, especially children, don't realize that a pet is a 10 to 20-year responsibility.

As PETA puts it, its a financial and emotional responsibility.

If a family member knows what it really means to be an animal parent, PETA recommends waiting until the holidays are over.

And defiantly adopt your pet from shelter. Never buy.

Besides, who would want something that would cost them thousands of dollars and years of commitment sitting under the tree?
