ScarJo Admits To Fear Of Birds

So apparently even though she felt fine making fun of Matt Damon because of his fear of snakes, Scarlett Johansson has a fear of her own…

Birds!!

ScarJo opened up in a recent interview about her new movie, We Bought A Zoo:

Did you have to overcome any irrational animal fears when you were shooting this movie?

I’m only scared of birds. Something about wings and beaks and the flapping. I’m terrified of them. That still hasn’t gone away. If they’d asked me to put a bird on my shoulder I would’ve done it, but it would’ve been hard. Cockroaches. I cannot stand cockroaches. That’s one thing I absolutely couldn’t do. But that’s not really an animal, is it? It’s an insect. … Actually, my uncle is terrified of birds, as well, so it runs in the family.

There were peacocks on the set.

Yeah, I was terrified of them. Like, “Ahh, don’t get too close.” They’re like, mean.

At one point, Elle Fanning asks your character if she prefers animals or humans. What about you? Any preference?

I take humans most of the time, but I have to say that occasionally sitting on the couch with the dog, you’re just like, “Man, you’re the best company. This is bliss.” Just the dog and a nice old movie and you’re good to go. But yeah, people. I take people.

So remember, if you plan on getting Scarlett a gift this holiday season, make sure it's not a parakeet!

Also, pets make lousy gifts… but you already knew that, right?

Matt Damon Was Afraid Of Snakes

"Was" being the keyword.

In his new movie, We Bought A Zoo, while starring alongside Scarlett Johansson, Matt Damon was in very close contact with all sorts of animals.

Even with all the wild lions and tigers hanging around the set, there was only one thing that truly scared Damon… the snakes!

An ET interviewer said to Damon:

"Scarlett revealed to us that you have kind of a fear of snakes."

And Damon responded:

"I did. I got over it."

He said that it was Scarlett's constant teasing that helped him get over his fear. And the fact that the young child actors were more than willing to be covered in the snakes.

Way to go Matt! There's nothing to fear from silly, slithery snakes!

Matt Damon Attends A Bullfight??

While on a break from filming in Mexico, Matt Damon was spotted at a bullfight!

He attended the fight at La Monumental bullring stadium in Mexico City with some friends.

Apparently he wasn't screaming for blood, jumping up and down; he was actually seen yawning and talking with friends, though he did applaud the fight a few times.

PETA said:

"Each year, approximately 250,000 bulls die in bullfights, an inaccurate term for events in which there is very little competition between a nimble, sword-wielding matador (Spanish for ‘killer’) and a confused, maimed, psychologically tormented, and physically debilitated animal."

Even though Damon has his own charity Water.org, that helps provide clean water and sanitation to people who need it, he's come under fire from PETA before.

They argue his most recent movie, We Bought A Zoo, sends the message that anyone can take care of exotic and wild animals.

We're sure he'll be hearing from PETA very soon.
