Lea Michele has really been championing the cause calling for the ban of carriage horses in NYC.
She's directly addressed Mayor Bloomberg several times, attempting to sway him.
She tweeted:
"Please tweet to @MikeBloomberg if you agree that horse and carriages should no longer be on the busy streets of NYC. And let’s end this."
Then she later wrote:
"@MikeBloomberg please listen to the thousands of people who are saying that they no longer want horse & carriage rides in this city."
Those poor horses forced to work hard during the harsh New York winter really had Lea upset. So upset she might have to do something drastic.
She wrote:
"New York, u know how much I love you. But if I see another horse & carriage struggling in this winter weather I may not be able 2 be here."
Oh man. C'mon New York. If you want your Lea Michele back, you're gonna have to get on the no horse carriage bandwagon.

Right in front of everyone waiting in a line at Knott's Berry farm, a horse suddenly collapsed.
Many witnesses saw the collapse, and some said before the collapse the horses looked exhausted on the stagecoach ride.
A witness, Lindsay Herrod, then said one of the horses started to tremble, and then collapsed.
Herrod said:

The dress that Lea Michele wore to the 2011 Met Ball is up for adoption auction.
The proceeds are going to go to PETA.
She's been working with PETA for a while now, most recently trying to get carriage horses banned in NYC.
The gorgeous dress was custom-made for her and is described on the auction site as a "red faille gown."
It also features:
"[…] a siren fit with inset godet to enhance the dramatic silhouette [and] detailed with rough finished seams and intricate top stitching."
The dress is a size two, so if that fits you and you wanna help the animals, then what are you waiting for?
Get out there and bid HERE!
The current bid is only $550. You can do better! Rescue her dress! Every dress deserves a forever closet! LOLz!

This is getting ridiculous.
A THIRD carriage horse has collapsed in New York City.
Lea Michele tweeted:
"A 3rd horse collapses in NYC!!! Are you kidding me!! I'm so sad… @peta @ChoMatic @PamelaDAnderson we have to end this now."
We're sad too. Those poor horses.
PETA said:
"If it seems like just last week that Mayor Bloomberg was callously dismissing the death of a horse used for New York’s infamous carriage rides, that’s because it was.
And in the days since Bloomberg made unintentionally ironic comments like '[they] probably wouldn’t be alive if they didn’t have a job' (talk about a catch 22), there have been two more horse-drawn carriage 'accidents.' (Although what else can be expected when sensitive, easily frightened horses are forced to work 10-hour days in all weather extremes on New York City’s crowded streets?)
The most recent incident happened during Friday’s rush hour when a horse fell down in the middle of the busy street. Witnesses said the horse either collapsed on his own or because his leg became caught in the carriage when he bucked."
U should go sign the petition to ban horse-drawn carriages in NYC: HERE.

After the collapse of TWO New York City carriage horses in the past two weeks, Pamela Anderson has joined the call for a ban on horse-drawn carriages.
She's joining other celebs, like Lea Michele, in joining a petition to replace the horse-drawn carriages with eco-friendly classic cars.
She wrote on her Facebook page:
"For the second time in less than two weeks, a carriage horse has collapsed on a Manhattan street. Horses do not belong in a congested, urban setting where they are constantly breathing exhaust and sharing the streets with cars, buses and taxis."
She urged all her fans to sign the petition so that these poor horses can be rescued from the streets.
Let's hope that New York's Mayor Bloomberg decides to take action before any more harm comes to those overworked animals.
