Kellie Pickler Gave Up Her Cat For Her Allergic Husband

Kellie Pickler has been married to her husband, Kyle Jacobs, for over a year now.

They seem to have a very solid marriage, though there was one big issue that could have torn them apart.

Kellie said:

"I love Kyle, he's my best friend. The only complaint that I would have with my husband is that I had to give up my cat."

She and her cat, Pickles, had been inseparable since she adopted him in 2006.

"I adopted him from an animal shelter out in Tennessee. He was my best friend. He went with me everywhere."

The problem was that if she wanted to marry Jacobs, she would have to get rid of her best friend.

"My husband's allergic to everything – he's, like, allergic to air. So, unfortunately, I had to find my cat Pickles a home with a family back in North Carolina."

At least Pickles has a good home now. It must've been tough to give up your best friend like that.

"I cried, I was devastated. My husband's going to be so sad when he reads this."

It must've been so tough! But we'd hope her wonderful husband makes up for it.

"Every time I look at my hand, I go, 'Good God.' What's behind this ring is such unconditional love, trust and respect. I see my husband every time I look at my ring. I'm a blessed woman – I have a good man."

So even though she had to give up Pickles, she's still a cat lover and does what she can to help out cats everywhere through charity and advocacy work.

"Cats kind of get slighted sometimes. And there's the stereotype about people that love cats – they call us crazy cat ladies. I'm crazy, but it's not because I love cats."

We love that you love cats and we're sure that cats love you too!

Kellie Pickler Unveils Cat Sweater To Benefit The ASPCA

Kellie Pickler is so lucky!

She got to hang out and play with kitties all day!

She unveiled the Fresh Step limited-edition cat sweater and it was to benefit the ASPCA.

It was held at the ASPCA Adoption Center in New York City which is full of adoptable pets.

Kellie Pickler Celebrates The 4th By Adopting A Bulldog

What a doggietarian!

Kellie Pickler's holiday weekend went beyond fireworks and parties. The country singer spent her Independence Day helping a dog. The singer Tweeted on Monday:

"A pit bull (at vet) w/broken pelvis & venomous snake bite will be a part of our family if he makes it through the night. Poor lil guy,"

Hours later, she reported that the canine was recovering well and that she planned to bring him home.

"Pit bull is Okay. On the way to pick him up now PRAYING he gets along w/our other dogs or we'll have to find him another home."

Pickler is mom to a menagerie of pets, including dogs Pixie, Maddie, MooMoo, a python named Boots and according to Kel:

"our latest rescue Chunk!"

Kellie Pickler's 'Stud'

Aw.

Kellie Pickler tweeted this pic she titeled "My lil sud" Thursday.

We don't recognize this as one of Kellie's three dogs, so it wouldn't surprise us if it was a stray she picked up on the road.

Kellie herself once said in an interview "If I see a dog sitting anywhere on the road I'm gonna put him in the bus and try to find him a home."

The almost-American Idol is known for putting giving away animals at her concerts.

We have a feeling it wont be hard to find a home for this cutie!

The Grench, Cruella Deville, Hitler? We can't think of anyone else capable. Whoever it is should be completely ashamed of themselves.

Thanks to the American Idol alumnus, we're sure this adorable pup will find a loving home.
